Landscape Futures

Landscape Futures: Instruments, Devices & Architectural Inventions is a speculative look into the future of the built environment that explores how landscapes can be completely transformed by technology and design. Geoff Manaugh’s futurist approach to architectural invention is a dense tome of archaeology, technology, biology, history packed into a variety of essays, interviews, curation, and includes a sourcebook of miscellaneous thoughts and texts. In order shape the diverse amount of content in the book, we adopted an aggressive design approach that blended two typographic languages. The display titling, symmetry, and text blocking are reminiscent of atlases and other traditional book forms, while the pink fluorescent ink and monospace techy fonts evoke a futuristic design language.
