Spin Magazine Redesign

In 2012, we redesigned SPIN, a music magazine founded in the mid-1980s, which in recent years had undergone an identity crisis. The goal for the redesign was to elevate the print product from a throwaway periodical to a higher-quality keepsake. We drew on the inspiration from the older SPINs of the 80’s and 90’s, particularly the bold, blunt, no-nonsense use of photography and typography. The magazine redesign features a custom typeface based on the original SPIN logo. The back section of the book is 2-color series of articles that recall the analog execution of photocopied zines.
